Scratching is a technique where the record is manually moved back and forth on a turntable to create rhythmic and percussive sounds.
Here two copies of the same record are used to loop and manipulate specific sections, creating complex rhythms and patterns.
This involves doubling tracks in creative and interesting ways to surprise the audience and add flair to the performance.
Our friendly, approachable, DBS checked instructors have over 45 years combined experience in turtablism, music production and live performance. As well as demonstrating and breaking down advanced techniques, they will explain how to approach practice itself, ensuring rapid development.
